आठ पुलिसकर्मियों की हत्या के मास्टरमाइंड विकास दुबे का एनकाउंटर कर दिया गया है. गिरफ्त में आने के 24 घंटे के अंदर ही विकास दुबे का एनकाउंटर कर दिया गया. विकास दुबे और पुलिस के बीच मुठभेड़ हुआ. इस मुठभेड़ में विकास दुबे गंभीर रूप से घायल हो गया था. उसे तुरंत लाला लाजपत राय हॉस्पिटल में लाया गया, जहां डॉक्टरों ने उसे मृत घोषित कर दिया है.

विकास दुबे की तलाश एक हफ्ते से की जा रही थी, लेकिन पुलिस की पकड़ से वो दूर ही रहा था. गुरुवार को अचानक वो उज्जैन के महाकाल मंदिर के बाहर मिला, जहां उज्जैन पुलिस ने उसे गिरफ्तार किया.
