A project ‘Building Chandigarh’ is initiated by the French artists Pierrick Mounton and Benoit Santiard with collaboration Alliance Francaise, Chandigarh here on Tuesday at UT guesthouse sector 6, Chandigarh.
The project is based on the basic principal of Le Corbusier “opens to receive and open to give”
Under the project the two French artists has revive the design of the ‘pedalo wooden boat’ whose designs have been lost. The artists gathered information through site, photographs and from artisans who have potentially collaborated with Pierre Jeanneret.
The boat will be inaugurated on October 1, at Sukhna lake. And the designs will be handed over to the UT administration.
A part from this, a tree Imperial tree Paulowina tomentosa originally from china will be planted at rose garden, which was planted by le-corbusier at le –lac villa in Switerzerland. A gardener will be deploy to ensure the survival of the tree
